How do you add modern functionality to a historic home without losing its soul? That was the wonderful challenge presented by these returning clients. Their beloved heritage home needed more space for their family to grow, and our goal was to design a two-storey addition that felt both seamless and transformative.

On the main floor, we focused on practical family living. A large new mudroom, featuring a statement checker-tiled floor and a custom bench, now stylishly corrals all the family's gear. Adjacent to it, a light-filled sunroom provides a beautiful new space to hang out and entertain. The new second floor is dedicated to creating a private retreat: an entirely new principal suite, complete with a spacious bedroom, a custom walk-in closet, and a modern ensuite bathroom.

This project carefully balances old and new, adding significant space and modern amenities while honouring the home's original character.
